Today I am sharing with you my editorial
called Thin white duchess that I did with photographer Marc Rogoff and hair
& make up artist Bunny Allen which was featured on Modo Magazine
This editorial was shot in the most amazing
cocktail bar that I have seen called Bar Galante. Situated in South
Kensington, Bar Galante has an impressive 1930's art deco feel to it and the
atmosphere is glamorous, contemporary but yet very relaxed. The bar was
inspired by the most distinguished Argentinian bartender, Santiago ‘Pichin’
Policastro and is truly breathe taking. After we finished shooting we all tried
out the authentic cocktails from the 1930s and 1940s which tasted amazing. Below
are some images from the bar so that you can see just how beautiful the bar is
in detail.
The inspiration for our shoot was the film ‘The man that
fell to earth' and our model Rebecca is the duchess that has fallen and has taken
a man prisoner. I used some beautiful pieces from some of London’s hidden
secrets in this shoot. I love Gregory Nicholas collection that featured tie
dyed silk and leather and when these were accessorised with leather designer
Una Burke corsets and harnesses, it gave the looks a very edgy futuristic feel. I also used a laser cutter leather necklace from Ruby Browning's collection which is one of a kind. The dress featured in the first look is by
Jennifer Morris and the feather detailing adds beauty to the un-usual black and
silver graduated fabric.
Here
is our finished editorial.
I hope you have enjoyed my blog!
