Get the Look - Neon
Neon is a massive trend at the moment and a trend that I love
as it really embraces the fun factor and can brighten up any dull day and make
a sunny day even brighter.
For some people, they find that they are not brave enough to
wear this trend in its full glory but there is a way to wear this trend and
still feel you in it. For today’s ‘Get the Look’ I show you how you can do neon
without it been scary.
I love this cream dress that features a neon lace overlay
bodice, it is the perfect day dress and the back detail is simply beautiful.
Teaming this with cream accessories makes this a take on a trend that everyone
can wear.
What do you think of this trend? Do you like the dress? I would
love to hear you thoughts.

Music Monday - Born This Way
Happy Monday everyone, today is Music Monday and I am sharing with you some who has been a modern day fashion icon due to her strength to be herself and break all rules to be different. I'm sure you have guessed that today's music video is from Lady Gaga.

The reason I have chosen this video to share today is because it showcases some amazing talent which I am always a fan of. For a start we have a talented song writer and musician that in this song explores the meaning of freedom and empowerment. We then have the talented fashion photographer Nick Knight who filmed the video, that took influence from surrealistic images by painters like Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon. Add amazing stylist Nicola Formichetti into the mix, then you are bound to create something that is explosive.

I love the fantasy aspect of this video and the stained glass window dress designed by Petra Storrs (a girl of many talents) that Lady Gaga wears in the beginning of the video when she is giving birth to a new generation of people looks breath taking. There are so many parts of this video that I love and above I have screen shot some of my favourites.
Anyway now it your turn to check out today's music video and share with me why you love this video too?
Hope you have enjoyed today's Music Monday and that you feel that it has set you up for the week ahead. Make sure you let me know your thoughts about this video.

Girl Behind the Look - Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham palace
Last Sunday I had
the chance to attend the Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham
palace.
It celebrated the
Queen’s 60th anniversary of her coronation and was hosted by the
Royal Warrant Holders Association. This
was a unique event as it brought all the warrant holders together in one place
and what amazing place this was.

I had the chance
to see some amazing British Heritage within these grounds and some of companies
had been supplying the royal households with goods or services for over 200
years.
Vintage Jaguar |
At the bottom of the gardens there was a collection of Jaguar and Bentley cars that had been supplied to the Queen over the years when she was on trips or had events.
Vintage Bentley |
Vintage car mirrors attached with leather straps to the wheels of this beautiful car. |
These were
beautiful and as you can see I managed to have my photo taken next to one. It
was my favourite one at the event as it is a true vintage car and I could just imagine
the Queen and Prince Philip travelling down the British country roads in it
with style.
Me showing my vintage style off. |
Like every girl, when I was invited to this event I started to panic about what I was going to wear. So I opted for this cream 1950’s style dress with beautiful bright blue flowers on. I teamed this up with a vintage cream bag and my favourite bright blue shoes. My cream glittery Max and Co sunglasses completed my look and protected my eyes in style.

The lake in the middle of the grounds. |
The gardens within Buckingham Palace are beautiful and the event was full of people exploring the grounds and marquees full of products that they could purchase. Many people (including me) were even embracing the beautiful British sunshine by having picnics and the all time British favourite drink, Pimm's.
Hooray indeed! |

I had a great day
there and it was truly a unique experience that made me once again proud of my
British heritage.

Spotlight - Eleanor Amoroso
Today I sharing with you the SS13 collection of a designer that I have seeing around the London fashion scene for a few seasons now. London-based designer, Eleanor Amoroso creates the most unusual pieces and first attracted attention with her hand crafted SS11 graduate collection and was featured on the front cover of Volt magazine been worn by model Alice Dellal.
Eleanor's collections feature pieces that are created by hand and show her fascination with macramé, which is a textile form of making textiles using knotting rather than weaving the yarn. This allows her to create beautiful sculptural pieces that have a modern elegance yet a hard and edgy dark side.
Eleanor graduated from University of Westminster in Womenswear and seeks inspiration from contemporary design, innovative and sculptural knitwear and the use of unexpected materials in clothing.
During her studies, Eleanor experimented with many creative processes, in doing this she found that she had a real passion for hand crafting which allowed her to develop her techniques in macramé.

For her SS13 collection, Eleanor has incorporated coils within her macramé techniques to create structured corset style pieces, using a palette of mainly white with accents of twisted black and grey yarn. The collection also features necklace pieces that incorporate her signature style of fringing which has featured in her previous collections.
I love this collection as it offers a unique and forgotten craft. The execution of the pieces are truly beautiful and although some people may find the structured body pieces a little much for their own wardrobes, they can still buying into the uniqueness of this fashion label with bracelets and necklaces.
What do you think of Eleanor's collection? What is your favourite piece? I would love to hear your thoughts.
