Today is a very exciting day as it is the first edition of
CoLab Thursday: The Bloggers Collaboration, something that I am really excited
about. If you missed my original post about what it is all about then you can
check it out here and hopefully you will want to be involved too.
The first topic is Love...
For me, love can be many things for instance I love blogging
and I am constantly thinking about my blog, what new posts I can write, what new
book I can read to grow my knowledge… I am like a sponge, absorbing as much as
I can!
Although I love blogging, last weekend I realised that I
have another love in my life that in the past year has totally taken a back
seat and this was crafting things.
Here is one of my weekend projects that I created.
On a recent holiday to Lanzarote, I came across this print
of Frida Kahlo by artist Dominic Murray and instantly fell in love with it! I have been trying to rack my brains on where I could buy a
cool frame to show the print off to its full glory for many weeks now, so when I
was out shopping the other day I came across a fairly basic frame that had been
damage thinking that I could fix it in someway, I asked if they would reduce
the price for me. I came out of the shop purchasing it for £2.50 with a big
smile on my face, such a bargain!
On my way home, I suddenly realised that I had bought some
really cool Japanese style papers (about 5 years ago, I like to buy random
things and keep them for a rainy day). I thought that it would look really cool if I
covered the frame with it. A night in front of the TV later and my frame was
covered and my print was mounted on a cool patterned paper backdrop to show it
off.
I love it so much that it has now made me realise that I
need to take some time out of my busy schedule to make more things so what this
space...I’m sure I will be sharing them with you all.
