Spotlight - Copenhagen Fashion Week - Barbara I Gongini
You may have caught my post yesterday where I
shared Barbara I Gongini’s runway video for her AW14 collection that was shown
at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Click here if you missed it.
Today I am going to share with you my thoughts
on the collection. In the video Below, Barbara shares with us the
inspiration behind the collection.
For me this collection has a more gothic feel
than her previous collection. She used mainly a black colour palette with
highlights of white and grey which mirrored a similar colour palette that was used for
her SS14 collection.

Once again the key trend to be taken from the collection was multi layering which has now become the brands signature. As Barbara said she has been influenced by the concept minimalism and you really get a sense of this when looking at the collection.

I love Barbara’s concept of not following trends and her collection been more a wardrobe concept. We are in a global environment where seasons are shifting and are becoming unpredictable; this collection of layered pieces allows you to be prepared for whatever the weather is.
